CONFLICT MINERAL
As a socially responsible global enterprise, J&YL strives to prohibit the use of so-called “conflict minerals” exported by the Democratic Republic of Congo and its neighboring countries. Such conflict minerals comprise tungsten, tantalum, tin, and gold, which directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups that violate the human rights of their citizens.
J&YL sets forth the following guidelines regarding conflict minerals: Suppliers must sign a Non-purchase Agreement that states they will not purchase any conflict minerals from designated countries violating human rights. Suppliers must reaffirm that their materials are not conflict minerals during the initial material certification procedure.
J&YL will annually audit all of its suppliers to ensure that they have fully complied with the Non-purchase agreement relating to conflict minerals, and make these audits available to its customers. J&YL will continue to proactively participate in global efforts to abandon use of conflict minerals to protect human rights in the Democratic Republic of Congo and neighboring countries.

Conflict Minerals?
The four most commonly mined conflict minerals (known as 3TGs, from their initials) are cassiterite (for tin), wolframite (for tungsten), coltan (for tantalum), and gold ore, which are extracted from the eastern Congo, and passed through a variety of intermediaries before being purchased.
